Roi de Sicile Rivoli hotel sits in one of the trendiest areas of Paris. The Le Marais neighborhood is instantly recognizable for its labyrinthine alleyways and beautifully refined architecture. Populated by tourists and locals alike, it is one of the most sought-after locales in the city by both groups. Accordingly, it is situated a walkable distance from many of Paris’s most iconic landmarks. The Roi de Sicile, thus, lies just 12 minutes away from Notre Dame, the same distance from the Place de la Bastille, and two minutes less than that from the Place des Vosges.

Any film fans considering staying at the Rivoli should take note, too, since Le Grande Rex, the largest cinema in Europe, is practically on your doorstep. Just as nearby is Shakespeare and Company Bookstore, Paris’s most famed book vendor, and the location for the opening scene of Richard Linklater’s ‘Before Sunset’ (2004), where Julie meets Jesse at his book reading. Lastly, La Louvre can be reached in less than a twenty-minute stroll. Though all can enjoy this – one of the world’s greatest art museums – film fans can get an extra kick out of seeing the hallways through which Anna Karina raced in Jean-Luc Godard’s ‘Bande à part’ (1964). Paris is indisputably a hub of global Cinema. As the setting of many of the most famous Hollywood films, the cradle of the irreversibly impactful nouvelle vague, and the location of Europe’s biggest cinema, film buffs will be overwhelmed by what the city has to offer. The Roi de Sicile is in the prime position to assist in any film fan’s pilgrimage to the home of Robert Bresson, François Truffaut, Jean-Luc Godard, and Brigitte Bardot.
Visitors to Paris have faced the perennial challenge of ‘doing it all’ for as long as the city has had visitors. To see everything in a day is impossible, but at the Hotel Roi de Sicile, you’ll stand in good stead to see much of what the town has to offer without too much unnecessary travel.
Hotel Roi de Sicile Rivoli: Universally Luxurious, Yet Nonetheless Distinct
The unique vision of the Roi de Sicile is to provide guests with the tranquil intimacy of independent accommodation without depriving them of the lavish convenience of hotel amenities. In keeping with this concept, each apartment has a distinct design, meaning each room affords its residents an exclusive atmosphere.
Nevertheless, four broad categories of apartments are available within the main hotel complex. Committed to luxury and comfort, every room is furnished with an effortlessly chic design, underfloor heating, either one or two flat-screen TVs, a Bluetooth sound system embedded in the headboard, unlimited video on demand, a selection of welcome products, and daily cleaning. Studio Premium accommodation features a queen-size bed, a view of the courtyard, a fully equipped kitchen, and a magnificently expansive Italian rain shower. Designed with a considered blend of modernity and timeless charm, you will live out your stay in comfort and style.
Apartment Premium rooms, also offering a queen-size bed, outfitted kitchen, and either an Italian rain shower or bathtub, supplement this with a queen-size sofa bed, a warm and inviting living room, and large windows facing out onto the streets of Paris. Though just as cozy as Studio Premium accommodation, the expansive city-facing windows of these apartments boast something of an urban airiness that is not quite as palpable in the Studio apartments.
The Apartment Prestige tier has a similar vantage of the metropolitan landscape, also holding a queen-size bed and sofa bed, a fitted kitchen, and either a bathtub or Italian rain shower. Prestige accommodation is more spacious, however, with a particularly large and well-appointed living room.
The pinnacle of accommodation at the Roi de Sicile is represented by Suite Couture, the hotel’s most luxurious and thoughtfully fashioned space. Exclusive and opulent, this upper echelon of apartment promises a king-size bed, a queen-size sofa bed, a balconied view of Parisian streets, a roomy living room tied together by a fireplace, a bathtub, or Italian rain shower, and two flat-screen televisions.
Such is Rivoli’s commitment to a personalized guest experience that the options do not end here, though. In the annex of the establishment, three more categories of housing are offered. Each is appointed with a daily cleaning service, an Italian rain shower, two flat-screen televisions, air conditioning, and a fully equipped kitchen. Duplex suites extend these luxuries to supply visitors with three beds: a king-size, a queen-size, and a queen-size sofa bed. Including a mezzanine, living room, and substantial windows out onto the street, these rooms are perhaps the most open and capacious available to customers.

In the Apartment Deluxe class, time seems to stop amid elegant décor and lavish fittings. Enjoy a queen-size bed, a queen-size sofa bed, a city view, a dining room served by your kitchen, a living room, and underfloor heating to keep the whole place warm and cozy.
Studio Deluxe combines comfort and privacy in a snug yet breezy queen-size one-bed residence kept temperate by floor heating systems, kept airy by the sight of the town through the window, and rendered pleasantly welcoming by a large living room.
Beyond Mere Accommodation
Vital in any hotel’s efforts to meet the fullness of its patrons’ wishes is extending luxury beyond its rooms. The Hotel Roi de Sicile does not scrimp in this regard, aiming not just to accommodate your desires but to anticipate them with both tailor-made and pre-designed experiences.
Most notable of the hotel’s tailor-made experiences is the breakfast service, which can be delivered to your apartment at any time of the day, with ‘healthy,’ ‘gourmet,’ ‘Parisian,’ and ‘Continental’ breakfast options all on the menu. If you’d rather cook for yourself, why not utilize the concierge’s grocery shopping service? Call reception with what you’d like and find your refrigerator filled in no time.
First among the pre-arranged luxuries at the hotel are its three relaxation lounges open to guests: a library, a television room showing international news, weather, and more, and a beauty salon. This last service includes two treatment rooms where specialists conduct facial treatments, manicures, make-up applications, and eye beauty sessions. In line with their ever-present commitment to guest-by-guest personalization, salon employees will modify each treatment according to the specific needs of your skin.
Central to any trip, Paris more so than anywhere else, is food. To really get on personal terms with French cuisine, however, one must attempt it oneself. Fortunately, the hotel’s French pastry-making courses can help with this. If you’ve never made a macaroon, a Paris-Brest, or a chocolate éclair before, most likely you never will unless you do it in Paris. At the Roi de Sicile, upon your request, a chef will come to your kitchen and teach you how to do all this and more in a private class focused on the gourmet pastries traditionally made in the region. If you don’t fancy yourself much of a chef, there are also perfume-making lessons to be had, so you can go home having learned something no matter what. Indeed, after the perfume production course, you’ll go home with your own homemade bottle of perfume too.

More practical-minded visitors can get excited too, since the Rivoli offers not only private transfers from the airport and train stations, but also employs babysitters and chauffeurs on its staff, meaning you can enjoy the French capital completely stress-free.
Still, if you’d rather stay at the hotel, you certainly won’t be disappointed. The speakeasy bar, hidden underneath the reception, is a moody, decadent gem of a spot. The jazz aesthetic rules supreme here, as exposed stone walls give way to a vaulted ceiling, and dimmed lights reveal dark purple velvet seating. The drinks list is thorough and distinctive, with a great selection of Japanese whiskeys and some uncommonly inventive cocktails. If you feel like experimenting, try the ‘Curiositea’ (gin, cucumber, ginger, lime, ginger beer), or the even more left-field ‘Onigiri’ (El Jimador Tequila, elderflower, wasabi, yuzu, lime, pineapple juice). The tragedy is that you could easily miss this hidden treasure of the Roi de Sicile if you didn’t dare to wander down the steps from the reception to find its warm ambiance.
A Fresh Combination
AirBnB and similar services offer intimacy and privacy, but hotels offer convenience and comfort: so goes the traditional narrative. As hotels seek to compete with this growing market of independent accommodation, these distinctions become blurrier. The Hotel Roi de Sicile Rivoli stands at the very forefront of attempts to combine the coziness and seclusion of independent accommodation with the things only hotels can offer: luxury and dedicated service. Lavish, tailored, and thoroughly modern, the Roi de Sicile is at the pinnacle of Parisian hotels.

An excerpt from the love letter: The Hollywood Insider’s CEO/editor-in-chief Pritan Ambroase affirms, “We have the space and time for all your stories, no matter who/what/where you are. Media/Cinema/TV have a responsibility to better the world and The Hollywood Insider will continue to do so. Talent, diversity and authenticity matter in Cinema/TV, media and storytelling. In fact, I reckon that we should announce “talent-diversity-authenticity-storytelling-Cinema-Oscars-Academy-Awards” as synonyms of each other. We show respect to talent and stories regardless of their skin color, race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, etc., thus allowing authenticity into this system just by something as simple as accepting and showing respect to the human species’ factual diversity. We become greater just by respecting and appreciating talent in all its shapes, sizes, and forms. Award winners, which includes nominees, must be chosen on the greatness of their talent ALONE.
I am sure I am speaking for a multitude of Cinema lovers all over the world when I speak of the following sentiments that this medium of art has blessed me with. Cinema taught me about our world, at times in English and at times through the beautiful one-inch bar of subtitles. I learned from the stories in the global movies that we are all alike across all borders. Remember that one of the best symbols of many great civilizations and their prosperity has been the art they have left behind. This art can be in the form of paintings, sculptures, architecture, writings, inventions, etc. For our modern society, Cinema happens to be one of them. Cinema is more than just a form of entertainment, it is an integral part of society. I love the world uniting, be it for Cinema, TV, media, art, fashion, sport, etc. Please keep this going full speed.”

Outside of his ongoing MA degree in English and Philosophy at St Andrews, Samuel Sandor spends his spare hours writing – short stories, essays, articles on film, music, or any other subject he finds himself preoccupied by. Through all these strands, he strives to find a unique and unexpected way to look at the subject at hand. Without a concerted effort, it’s easy to form surface-level impressions of both the art and the news that one consumes. Sam’s pieces attempt to answer this interpretative simplicity by inducing curiosity in subjects one might ordinarily devote little thought to. It is this desire to transform viewpoints with novel ideas and to stoke deeper and more extensive conversations which attracted him to The Hollywood Insider.
