Château Malartic-Lagravière is a winery located on the edge of Bordeaux, France. It’s renowned for its various red and white wines, and famous for its incredible wine tourism. This tourism includes things such as visits, tastings of their exquisite products, and workshops. The visits are in both English and French, doubling the potential customer base. After learning more about their dedication to environmental causes to preserve places like their winery and the world in general during the visit, it concludes with the commentary of two wine tastings. They provide a very holistic experience with lessons that wine connoisseurs and newcomers can take with them after the visit. The fact that there really is something for everybody on their site helps it rise above to serve as a truly great facility.

They also occasionally will go out of their way to sponsor wine at events. The owners of the winery, the Bonnie family, notably took their company’s talents back to Los Angeles this past week to a very special awards ceremony: the 36th annual American Cinematheque Awards. The American Cinematheque is a non-profit organization that champions interconnection and self-expression by empowering the film community, encouraging filmmakers of all kinds to tell and enjoy each other’s stories. Each year, they put on an awards show to celebrate one artist, in particular, that is living out the organization’s message of connection through the power of film.

The second qualification is that they must be halfway through their career, as opposed to the end of it. This year, they celebrated Ryan Reynolds. The celebration was made better by Château Malartic-Lagravière’s presence, and they have been a sponsor since 2019. Past honorees include actresses Scarlett Johanson and Charlize Theron. The Château Malartic-Lagravière provides a layer of elegance and class to the event that it otherwise wouldn’t have contained. They brought this to the atmosphere and made themselves a part of the Award shows message by being charitable and of course bringing their signature wine.

Charity

The Bonnie family is no stranger to doing good. They have a long history of partnering with celebrities in raising money for important causes. For instance, one charity they have been passionate about supporting in the past was Movember. This charity highlights men’s mental health and the epidemic of male suicide, illuminating the importance of this subject through education and connection. Château Malartic-Lagravière worked alongside iconic director and writer Keneth Branaugh, as he signed one of the company’s unique 6-liter bottles of their wine Grand Cru Classé to help it sell big throughout Movember. The bottle was also one of only ten that had the title of his latest movie, ‘Death on the Nile’

For this awards ceremony, they are once again partnering with a celebrity to help raise money for their favorite charity. In his own life, Ryan Reynolds is a huge supporter of the Influence Mentoring Society. This Canadian charity finds ways to help post-secondary indigenous students with educational opportunities and closing discriminatory employment gaps. The activist group also calls mentors to raise awareness of indigenous culture, education, and history.

Château Malartic-Lagravière – Wine

This one is obvious, but it still deserves to be mentioned. The Bonnie family promises an expert understanding of the terroirs surrounding their vineyards. For those reading who don’t know, terroir is a french term for the environmental factors that influence the crops phenotype. An expert understanding of this has helped them perfect all parts of the winemaking process; from taking care of the plot of land, to the aging process, to cultivating the different kinds of wine.

This excellence has carried over to their sponsorships. At the American Cinematheque Awards, the Bonnies took red and white wine crafted using these precise, scientific techniques and brought it to Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton Gala. The meticulously curated wine could be seen at the cocktail reception afterwards. At the awards ceremony, Reynolds ended up signing a magnum of Château Malartic-Lagravière wine. According to Bonnie estate co-owner Véronique Bonnie, this is as significant to the estate as producing a film in Hollywood.

Legacy

Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branaugh aren’t the only celebrities that they have partnered to do charitable causes with, and Reynolds isn’t the only celebrity they have supported through charity at the awards show. They have also supported the charities that are favorites of the previous inductees, such as Scarlett Johanson‘s Solar Responders, an organization that gives first responders solar-plus-storage systems.

The amount of years they’ve chosen to support actors’ favorite charities makes them an established and respected business in the town. It shows that, as a company, they’re chosen to center their winery around compassion. At the very least, they are practicing their business in an ethical way is important to them.

Founded over two decades ago by a Belgian couple, Alfred and Michèle Bonnie, after they saw the land of Château Malartic-Lagravière, their two children, Véronique and Jean-Jacques, have since taken over Malartic Estates, and finished its construction in 2005. The family has since passed down their legacy to a new generation without losing any of the important qualities that have driven the winery and its wine to greatness. It has only continued into the present day, expanding and growing its reach to Hollywood and raising money for charity. Château Malartic-Lagravière has become so much more than a winery, and it’s all thanks to the hard work and dedication of two generations of one incredible family.

Click here to read The Hollywood Insider’s CEO Pritan Ambroase’s love letter to Cinema, TV and Media. An excerpt from the love letter: The Hollywood Insider’s CEO/editor-in-chief Pritan Ambroase affirms, We have the space and time for all your stories, no matter who/what/where you are. Media/Cinema/TV have a responsibility to better the world and The Hollywood Insider will continue to do so. Talent, diversity and authenticity matter in Cinema/TV, media and storytelling. In fact, I reckon that we should announce “talent-diversity-authenticity-storytelling-Cinema-Oscars-Academy-Awards” as synonyms of each other. We show respect to talent and stories regardless of their skin color, race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, etc., thus allowing authenticity into this system just by something as simple as accepting and showing respect to the human species’ factual diversity. We become greater just by respecting and appreciating talent in all its shapes, sizes, and forms. Award winners, which includes nominees, must be chosen on the greatness of their talent ALONE.

I am sure I am speaking for a multitude of Cinema lovers all over the world when I speak of the following sentiments that this medium of art has blessed me with. Cinema taught me about our world, at times in English and at times through the beautiful one-inch bar of subtitles. I learned from the stories in the global movies that we are all alike across all borders. Remember that one of the best symbols of many great civilizations and their prosperity has been the art they have left behind. This art can be in the form of paintings, sculptures, architecture, writings, inventions, etc. For our modern society, Cinema happens to be one of them. Cinema is more than just a form of entertainment, it is an integral part of society. I love the world uniting, be it for Cinema, TV, media, art, fashion, sport, etc. Please keep this going full speed.
